MedMark Treatment Centers Expands Buprenorphine Treatment Access at 25 Locations Across Nine States
Participating opioid treatment centers are adding office-based buprenorphine treatment alongside established methadone maintenance programs
LEWISVILLE, Texas, Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MedMark Treatment Centers today announced that 25 of its opioid treatment centers across nine states are expanding their services to include office-based opioid treatment, or OBOT, with buprenorphine and naloxone-based medications such as Suboxone® alongside their established methadone maintenance programs.
MedMark Treatment Centers, part of BayMark Health Services, provides medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder and other substance use disorders. The expansion brings additional medication treatment options participating MedMark locations, giving individuals greater access to treatment aligned with their clinical needs, preferences and recovery goals.
“Treatment for opioid use disorder is not one-size-fits-all,” said Dan Greer, Senior Vice President of Opioid Treatment Programs at BayMark Health Services. “Expanding buprenorphine services at MedMark locations that already provide methadone treatment allows us to offer patients more options while keeping their care connected through an experienced treatment team.”
Buprenorphine services will be provided through an office-based opioid treatment (OBOT) model, while participating locations will continue to provide methadone through their established opioid treatment programs (OTPs). OTP patients receiving methadone generally visit the treatment center more frequently for medication, while eligible OBOT patients may receive a buprenorphine prescription for up to a month at a time, allowing for less frequent visits. Each patient will receive an assessment and individualized treatment plan to determine the medication and level of support most appropriate for their needs.
Both treatment options are supported by experienced addiction treatment professionals and may include:
- Individualized treatment planning
- Substance use counseling
- Recovery support services
- Ongoing medical and clinical support
- Respectful, judgment-free care
The expansion is intended to make it easier for individuals to explore appropriate treatment options without having to navigate multiple providers or disconnected systems of care. Patients whose needs or circumstances change may also be able to discuss other available treatment options with a team already familiar with their history and goals.
“Bringing these services together strengthens our ability to meet patients where they are in their recovery journey,” said Evelyn Sosa, Senior Vice President of Opioid Treatment Programs at BayMark Health Services. “Whether methadone or buprenorphine is determined to be the appropriate option, patients can receive treatment from a trusted local team focused on helping them build stability and move forward.”
